Let's Talk about Launch

You are not going to sell out on launch day.

And that’s ok!

Launching products and Expectations

I want to talk a bit about launching products and expectations. There is a lot of social media noise about launching and how to launch etc which is great but there’s nothing about what comes next. It’s great to drop new products and It is an exciting time, but it can be disheartening if people don’t rush to buy your product immediately as you launch it. It’s fine and perfectly normal if you don’t sell loads on day one! If you do sell out on day one, good on you! Amazing! BUT for those who don’t, please know it’s normal and small brands need time, you still need to consistently promote for weeks and months after launch.

I work with an established lifestyle brand with a very strong community that loves everything they do. They launched a reasonably high-priced point product recently and sold 20 pieces in the first week. This is a win! You might not sell out your inventory on day one, week one, or even month one and this is fine! This particular brand will continue to sell 10-20 pieces a week consistently for the next couple of months. They will sell through 60% easily within the first 10-12 weeks and probably go on to sell through 90-100%. Selling through 60% of your inventory in a 12-week run is good and normal. They will continue to market the product, the awareness of people wearing it will also lift, slow and steady wins the race.

Be consistent, tell the same story, keep promoting that product, some people who discover you a month from now won’t know you launched the product so keep on the marketing well after launch. Because you are working in the business every single day you think people must be sick of seeing it, BUT not everyone is seeing it the first time, the second time even the 7th time, you must be consistent to achieve your sell-through.

Anyone launching good luck! How are you feeling about your launch? Did this help you to understand it’s perfectly normal if you don’t have lots of sales on day one?  If you need further help hop over to my contacts page to book in for your free call.
